We begin the week with a new Moon at 15 degrees Libra. New Moons provide an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and begin anew. The commencement of something new need not be monumental and the shape of a new beginning can be quite a simple act of renewal and course correction. Libra is the sign of balance and cooperation. Seeking to find the middle way is a recipe for coexistence in a fractious world. We live in a world that is rife with division and what better time to reconsider our positions than with a new Moon in Libra. Coincidently, (or perhaps not) one of the key alignments of the week involves both Venus (in retrograde) and Mercury. While these two planets are in water sign Scorpio, they may provide an opportunity to open discussions that are poignant and healing. The most interesting aspect of this pairing is the placement of Uranus directly opposing predominantly Mercury. This combination of two linked planets can deliver a surprising outcome especially if we look to the backdrop of the week. Uranus is often referred to as a higher octave of Mercury implying that there lies a greater outcome to this influence. Mercury is all about communication and connection, whereas Uranus, strikes at innovation and rebellion. What does this entail? Could we see a reversal of fortune? What surprise could lurk in this alignment that shifts directions for us all? Mars and Venus stand in a harsh angle to each other as well this week. This square (90 degrees) brings a point of contention to bear. Mars leans towards aggression whereas, Venus tends to harbor the softer gentler side of life. There is no necessary winner or loser in such an angle and we cannot expect one outcome over another. What we can observe and learn is how to harness this tension and make it work for us as opposed to working against us. Rather than be pulled into a fray of emotions and controversy we can just as easily turn the energy of the influence into a productive time. Depending on where these aspects appear in your personal horoscope chart is what determines the shape of the influence in your personal world. Often a little tension can bring a resolution to light simply by virtue of clearing the air. What might appear to be destructive can, in fact, be constructive, especially if the outcome is fruitful and progressive.
