By the end of the week we will witness a Solar Eclipse at the same time as the arrival of the summer solstice on June 21st. This occurs at 0 degrees Cancer, a powerful degree point on the cardinal axis which also includes Aries, Libra, and Capricorn. This eclipse happens at a time of great social unrest sweeping the United States. Eclipses are remarkable for their geometric precision and the absence of light for a brief period. Symbolically, an eclipse is a time when a different light emerges and shines on that which has been hidden. The irony is that the summer solstice is the longest day of the year; a time when there is more daylight than night. And this eclipse occurs in the midst of a world literally at war with a number of social and natural tragedies. If that wasn’t enough, we are currently witnessing three outer planets in retrograde motion as well. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are all in close proximity by degree. Jupiter and Pluto are in Capricorn and Saturn will join them in early July. Take note that this is a powerful alignment and recalls a similar alignment to that which delivered the virus. Venus is also retrograde in Gemini and Mercury stations retrograde on the 18th. Confusion may reign as communications and missed connections prevail. It is not a reach to conclude that the world is spinning out of control. At least that is how it feels and yet it is through times of turmoil and turbulence that true progress is made. Where is that happening in your life? Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. WWW.turningofthewheel.com, www.chrisflisher.com.
With Mercury entering the retrograde parade we can expect even more disruption than usual. Given that we are in the midst of a social, financial, and health-related disaster, this can only add to the complex unfolding of events, organizations, and institutions all of which are being tested to the limits of their power. It is important to stop and grasp the enormity of the present and delve into a careful review of where we are and how we got here. Retrogrades are excellent opportunities to do just that. As the forward motion of the planets seemingly comes to a standstill, we are like strangers on a train waiting and pondering what is to come. This important period provides us with a cosmic dialog which allows us to reconsider all that we once held as true and consider what a different path might deliver to us in the long run. LIke a pendulum, time has swung us in a direction that requires our full attention and full intention to reverse. There is no better time than a collective retrograde era to bring us back to our place of progress. Each of us is going through this on some level in our individual lives. Where will you feel it?
