We have the intense eclipses in our rearview mirror, but we are not out of the woods yet. Eclipses happen at a specific moment in time, but their impact can linger for up to roughly six months (before and after.) Issues or themes that arose during this period are likely to linger or come to some sort of conclusion at the end of the time frame. Growth comes at the hands of experiences; both good and bad. At each juncture we are handed opportunities to explore and discover our weaknesses. Since these eclipses (Solar on July 2, and full Moon Lunar on July 16) fall across the Cancer/Capricorn axis we are facing an emotional time of trying to secure or repair our homes and families. It is no small irony that the administration’s recent talk has been about separating families and returning people to their “homes.” This theme is clearly evident in the populace. It dominates the discourse. Cancer represents the home, family, and all things having to do with “mother.” The furor that this policy has caused is one that breaks the collective human heart on a global, primal level. It is not natural to want to impose hardship on others without reason. As a result, we all feel this as a collective guilt or shame that is suppressed by many. Suppressed or not, the feeling is still there and cannot be ignored. How does this impact you? Each of us will feel this theme, but we will each feel it differently. Where will you feel it? Elsewhere we see the Sun pairing up with Venus and Mars in the middle degrees of Leo. The Sun is at home in Leo and perhaps we emerge from the cloud of the eclipses in a positive manner, although at the same time two of these three planets Sun and Venus) form a harsh angle to Uranus, the planet of the unexpected. The outcome of such a connection can go either way. This could deliver an unanticipated reversal of a policy in the most surprising manner, or further escalation. With Venus involved and under the light of the Sun, it may be that a corrective course is found. Either way we will be impacted by the course of events in this regard and it will likely be unexpected. If nothing else, the rhetoric will be heated as Mercury (now stationing direct) will be in opposition to Pluto. In this capacity, the conversations may become quite difficult. This may present a dialog that seeks to tear down a policy or other entrenched law. Pluto tears down old structures and then rebuilds. With Mercury involved the topic could center around dialog, contracts, agreements, and other well-established and mutually agreed-upon pre-existing laws. With this much potential tension in the cosmic patterns of the week we should prepare ourselves for a very bumpy ride and expect a grand argument to evolve that has served its purpose and must be rebuilt.
