The Chinese figure for Buddha is shown here. The symbol floats on a rich purple lotus blossom, the pure and symbolic flower of the universality of all mankind.
Siddhartha Guatama, the Buddha, was born in 563 BC in what is now known as Nepal, high in the Himalayan mountain range. He is attributed as the founder of Buddhism. This is not a belief of dogma, rather a way to exist which allows us to gain greater insight into the truth that exists in all our lives. We cannot escape the truth and we cannot deny the existence of pain and consequence in our lives. Life is suffering. Life is difficult. The better way to live is to accept this life and embrace it with totality and full mindfulness. Mindfulness and being in the here and now.
That simple light may rise out of the complicated darkness
